NEW YORK (TNND) -- Three people were sent to the hospital in New York City on Christmas Day when a taxi cab jumped the curb and hit multiple pedestrians, according to police.
The incident happened in Herald Square at 4:03 p.m. as the taxi driver was going northbound on Sixth Avenue, the New York City Police Department told ABC News.
Officials said six pedestrians were hit and three people were taken to area hospitals including a 9-year-old boy and two women aged 41 and 49.
The pedestrians suffered non-life-threatening injuries, police added.
Police said the driver may have suffered from a medical episode but the investigation is ongoing.
