The former Texas Rangers relief pitcher is headed to the Athletics on a one-year deal, the team announced Friday. The contract will be worth $10 million, multiple outlets reported.
Leclerc, a twice-demoted closer in each of the last two seasons who pitched in 64 games last year, came off the Rangers' books this offseason after spending the entirety of his big league career with the organization.
In eight seasons with the Rangers, Leclerc appeared in 350 games, making 41 saves with a 3.27 ERA and an 11.8 strikeout per nine innings ratio over 360.1 innings pitched.
