John Capodice, an actor known best for his roles in "General Hospital" and "Ace Ventura: Pet Detective" died only a few days after his 83rd birthday.
Capodice died on Monday, Dec. 30, his obituary states. The late actor was born on Dec. 25, 1941 in Chicago, Illinois.
Capodice served in the U.S. Army from 1964 to 1966 before he started acting on stage in mostly off-Broadway plays in New York City in the late 1970s, his IMDb biography states.
Capodice's first television appearance came in 1978 and his film debut came in 1982. He later earned fame for portraying Sgt. Aguado in "Ace Ventura" in 1994 and playing Carmine Cerullo in six episodes of "General Hospital" in the mid-1990s.
Capodice also made guest appearances on "Ellen," "Monk," "CSI: Crime Scene Investigation," "Will & Grace," "Boy Meets World," "Living Single," "Murder, She Wrote," "NYPD Blue," "Melrose Place," "Blossom," "Seinfeld," "Murphy Brown," "Law & Order" and "As The World Turns."
Capodice's other film credits included "Naked Gun 33+1/3: The Final Insult," "Speed," "Independence Day" and "Enemy of the State." He also voiced Sidney Pen in the 2010 video game "Mafia II."
Capodice is survived by his wife, Jane; daughters, Tessa and Cassandra; sisters, Kathy and Patti, as well as his grandchildren, David, Jake, Frankie and Giuliana, Capodice's obituary states.
