Somerset County lottery player wins $10K playing Mega Millions

A representative of the New Jersey Lottery presented Quick Stop Food Store owners Apexaben and Kauschik Patel with a check for $30,000 for selling the winning Mega Millions jackpot ticket from the Feb. 11 drawing.

A lottery player in Somerset County won $10,000 in the Tuesday, Dec. 17, Mega Millions drawing.

The winning ticket was sold at ShopRite #470 in Somerville, 3166 Route 22. The winning numbers were: 56, 66, 67, 68 and 69, with 18 as the Gold Megaball.

Players can pick six numbers from two separate pools of numbers -- five different numbers from 1 to 70 (the white balls) and one number from 1 to 25 (the gold Mega Ball) -- or select Easy Pick/Quick Pick. Players win the jackpot by matching all six winning numbers in a drawing. Drawings are held at 11 p.m. ET Tuesdays and Fridays at 11 p.m. and can be streamed online. Visit www.megamillions.com
