Also, during the interaction, Modi was heard saying 'he has been winning over people' to Dosanjh in a lighter vein, referring to the first name of the famous Punjabi artiste. The singer-actor expressed his admiration for Modi's sentiments towards his mother and the Ganga river.
Many reacted to the meeting, with one person on Instagram commenting, "Ohhh paaji desh hang kar ditta," while another wrote, "Another Unexpected Collab." A different person said, "Ye toh Alag hi crossover ho gaya ji," while one more added, "Bad Day For andbhakts."
A while back, Dosanjh was criticised by right wing groups over a host of issues. Following his meeting with Modi, Dosanjh said in a post on X, "A fantastic start to 2025. A very memorable meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi. We talked about a lot of things including music of course!"
Recently, Dosanjh's highly anticipated New Year's Eve concert in Ludhiana was marred by legal controversy following a complaint filed by Punditrao Dharenavar, an assistant professor from Chandigarh. The complaint was to prevent the singer from performing pro-alcohol songs during his live show as part of the Dil-Luminati Tour on 31 December 2024.
In early December, The Bajrang Dal and the Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) protested against the sale of liquor and meat at singer-actor Diljit Dosanjh's concert in Madhya Pradesh's Indore, with some Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) legislators voicing their support for the demands. Upset by the protests, the actor had said that he would stop singing alcohol-themed songs if all the liquor shops in the country were shut down.
