NEW HAVEN, CT (WFSB) - A teenage suspect was arrested for killing another teen in New Haven in early December.
New Haven police announced on Tuesday that they had the suspect in the murder of 17-year-old Daily Jackson.
Jackson was found with a gunshot wound near Shelton Avenue and Huntington Street on Dec. 3, 2024 around 6:40 p.m.
He was transported to Yale New Haven Hospital where police said he succumbed to the wound.
Detectives were able to secure an arrest warrant for a 17-year-old suspect.
They said the suspect was taken into custody and transported on Monday to a juvenile detention facility in Bridgeport.
They withheld his identity until the case is transferred to adult court. Police anticipated that to happen on Wednesday.
A news conference with New Haven Mayor Justin Elicker, Chief Karl Jacobson, and Jackson's family was set for Wednesday at 1 p.m.
