What does a $500K home look like in Indiana? See inside five for sale

Resonance Consultancy, a real estate and tourism consulting firm, released a report ranking the top 100 best cities in the world.

As we wrap up 2024, we took one more look around Indiana at the current state of the real estate market.

Strategists at Redfin, Fanny Mae and others told USA TODAY they expect the mortgage rate to remain in the mid-6% range throughout 2025, with national home prices predicted to rise anywhere from 1.5% to 4%. Find their full list of predictions here.

Indianapolis, Carmel, and Anderson made the National Association of Realtors list for the hottest housing markets of 2025, so Indiana could continue to see plenty of interested buyers in a market with a lower supply of homes than in years past.

With that in mind, here's what a home in the $500,000 to $575,000 price range looks like in December in cities around the state.

Fort Wayne architect's dream overlooking a ravine
