OXFORD -- The city of Oxford celebrated its 173rd anniversary this week with a community gathering at City Hall, honoring both the city's history as well as its future.

Several community members, city officials and first responders gathered Tuesday afternoon in celebration of the city's founding -- complete with cupcakes. City officials spoke, followed by the Oxford High School show choir performing an a cappella rendition of Happy Birthday.
