Santa Tracker 2024: When will St. Nick arrive in St. Cloud? Here's how to follow

Follow along with Santa and his sleigh on NORAD's Santa Tracker as he delivers presents around the world.

With Christmas Eve around the corner, it's time for children and families to prepare their Santa trackers to follow him through the night sky on his way to the St. Cloud area.

Several tracking tools are available online for families to use, complete with maps, games and fun facts to pass the time until Santa's route is available.

When will Santa get to St. Cloud?

North American Aerospace Defense Command, or NORAD, has a website and an app specifically for tracking Santa's flight, a tradition it first started in 1955. However, the timing for his visit to St. Cloud will not be available until Christmas Eve, though the site offers a few details about Santa's route ahead of time. So he'll head through Sauk Rapids before he touches down in St. Cloud and then St. Joseph. He won't miss a spot.

Santa typically flies heading west, according to NORAD's website, and his visit usually takes place between 9 p.m. and midnight. The site will launch its tracker the night of Christmas Eve.

"NORAD coordinates with Santa's Elf Launch Staff to confirm his launch time," the website said. "But from that point on, Santa calls the shots. We just track him!"

Children can also call NORAD at +1 (877) HI-NORAD to get updates on Santa's location, and the organization will share its tracker on its social media sites.

When does Google launch its Santa tracker?

Google has also created a holiday-themed website that is already available. It will also launch its Santa tracker the night of Christmas Eve and currently features a countdown clock to the special day.

The Santa Tracker website features games, virtual crafts and short lessons and videos about Santa and the history of the holiday.

According to Google's site, Santa's trip takes 25 hours, and his first stop will take place at 10 p.m. local time in far eastern Russia.

Both sites also have versions available as mobile apps in the App Store and Google Play.
