A BODY has been found in the search for a Gwent man who has been missing for nearly one month.

Michael Lloyd, 58, from Risca, was first reported as a missing person by Gwent Police on November 27, who said that he was last seen the day before on November 26 on his daily walk.

Michael's usual route involved him walking around the River Ebbw, and so police officers supported by helicopters from the National Police Air Service (NPAS) searched the area in the weeks following his disappearance with no luck.

A body was then found on Tuesday, December 17 near Junction 28, a restaurant in Bassaleg, Newport, Gwent Police have confirmed.

Although no formal identification has taken place, Michael's family members have been informed.
