Toni Storm is Timeless, but her memory is not. Since returning to AEW, Storm seems to have no recollection of her entire run with the company. Her memory loss is our gain, because AEW has been posting mockumentary style clips of Storm behind the scenes.
Storm felt like she was in a dream becoming All Elite. Watch to the end for a sighting of Mark Briscoe in the wild.
The next video was Storm arriving for the "Toni Storm: Portrait of a Rockstar" profile that aired on Dynamite. This one leans more into the faux documentary style. RJ City and the crew stand in shock at Storm's apparent amnesia. Like a good rookie, she even offered to help tear down the set.
The latest installment saw Storm arriving in awe to the Hammerstein Ballroom, where she changed in the hallway getting ready for a match.
These clips are great. Storm's demeanor reminds me of a cross between David Brent from The Office and Murray Hewitt from Flight of the Conchords. Or maybe it's just the accent. Storm is perfect in this role with innocent enthusiasm and cheeky jargon. I know Murray wouldn't be too keen on a comparison to an Australian, but Storm was born in New Zealand before changing countries at a young age. Perhaps there is some kind of leeway there.
AEW may have struck gold again with Storm's latest character. Just like with Timeless, the shelf life is temporary, however, there is plenty of juice to squeeze from Toni Time.
