Dr. Barton Goldsmith
There's a very old saying: "If wishes were horses, beggars would ride." Still, a wish means something, especially if you wish for what's possible. So don't stop wishing, and make this new year bright in your own heart and the hearts of those you love. Here's my list of wishes for you:

May you find peace of mind even if just for a few moments a day. Life is so much easier if you feel good about yourself and what you are doing. Don't let a bad circumstance create a bad life. Peace really does come from within, and you can find it if you just take a little time to look. It's right there, and you don't even have to unwrap it.I wish you love, the greatest healer. The love in your life is a gift that can't be purchased. Some people who don't have love in their lives (but want it) may make up excuses and try to blow it off. Don't believe them. They could be hurting inside, so show them a little tenderness, and help warm their hearts if you can.May your community offer you support and understanding. The world is changing very fast right now, and we can get so caught up in our own dramas that we forget about those who love and support us. So don't forget to spend time with those you care about. It can make life much brighter, especially during difficult times.I wish you the gift of forgiveness. It is really something you give to yourself. Holding on to anger against others is unhealthy and puts a damper on your day. You might not realize how much extra weight you are carrying around until you let it go. If you can allow yourself to release resentment, it will make your world a better place. My final wish is that you allow yourself to be happy. Many people hold themselves back as if they were waiting for the other shoe to drop. Life is difficult, but you can still have happiness, and when you get some, savor it. Happiness is a state of mind and, in many cases, a choice. It doesn't matter if you are in a good relationship or a bad situation at the moment. At the very least, please find something about simply being alive that puts a smile on your face, and then treasure it. People are also reading... A new year offers fresh starts. Even in times of emotional turmoil, there is always something exciting and positive about the opportunity to say goodbye to the old and hello to the new. That little bit of optimism alone could make a big difference in your life.
