Sugar Bowl plans have been put on hold in the wake of a suspected terror attack that killed 10 people and injured dozens of others on Bourbon Street in the early hours of Wednesday morning.

A truck plowed into a crowd of people on Bourbon Street, which is less than a mile from the Superdome, which is where Georgia and Notre Dame were set to meet in a College Football Playoff quarterfinal game.

Football obviously takes a back seat in situations like this, and it is being reported that the Sugar Bowl has been postponed until Thursday, January 2. It appears the game will kick off at 8:45 p.m. ET still.

A Georgia student was among those injured in the attack, according to a statement from university president Jere W. Morehead. The Georgia football traveling party has all been accounted for.

The suspect was reportedly killed by police in a shootout that ensued after he crashed a pickup truck into the Bourbon Street crowd.

The Superdome was put on lockdown in the wake of the attack so security could sweep the building.

If the game is indeed postponed until Thursday, it appears the same kickoff time (8:45 p.m. ET, 7:45 p.m. CT) will be used.
