LCUB provides update on fiber broadband project

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. -- Lenoir City Utilities Board (LCUB) said Tuesday its $150 million electrical grid modernization project is 33% complete.

The project, which began in August 2022 and faced initial supply chain delays, involves providing fiber internet to customers. Fiber internet is typically faster, less likely to be interrupted and more environmentally friendly.

LCUB has installed 513 miles of cabling, serving those in Lenoir City and Karns. Hardin Valley is being connected, with plans to expand to Farragut and north Loudon County.

LCUB's residential broadband services start at $69.99 per month with business services starting at $89.95 per month. You can learn more here.
