Alvin Kamara makes clear who he thinks should be the Saints' next head coach

Alvin Kamara has made an endorsement in the New Orleans Saints' coaching search.

The New Orleans Saints running back took to X on Tuesday to weigh in on the process, writing that he'd like to see interim coach Darren Rizzi keep the job. Rizzi has interviewed once for the position, but also could be in demand around the league as a special teams coordinator if he's not retained.

"Aite my vote for head coach rhyme wit Fizzi..." Kamara tweeted.

Kamara is among the many Saints players who have spoken highly of Rizzi, the Saints interim who took over for Dennis Allen after the Saints made a coaching change in November. The team went 3-5 in Rizzi's tenure, though ended the season with four straight losses (albeit with an injured Derek Carr).

The Saints have announced interviews six candidates for the job, including Rizzi. The team was expected to begin the second round of interviews this week, but a snow storm in the area has caused the team adjust on the fly. New Orleans would also like to speak with former Dallas Cowboys coach Mike McCarthy for the role.

If Rizzi does not get the job, he could have options. The 54-year-old interviewed for the New York Jets' coaching vacancy and the Denver Broncos and Chicago Bears have reportedly expressed interest in him as a special teams coordinator, Rizzi's role before being promoted to interim coach.

Rizzi and Kamara, too, appear to have a close relationship. The coach named the running back a team captain upon taking over for Allen and repeatedly praised Kamara's buy in throughout the season.
