Houston - He's not your average Santa Claus. Paul Mason, better known as Fashion Santa, has walked runways for world-renowned designers like Dolce & Gabbana, Armani, and Dior. For nearly 10 years, he's transformed the jolly old Saint Nick into a high-fashion icon.
For the first time, the Fashion Santa is bringing his glamorous holiday spirit and charitable mission to Houston.
He first rose to fame in 2014 after a personal tragedy. Following the loss of his mother to cancer, he stopped shaving and noticed the emergence of his signature white beard. Combining his modeling expertise with holiday cheer, he created Fashion Santa -- a reimagined version of the Christmas figure designed to spread joy and raise funds for good causes.
The character went viral in 2014, with over two billion impressions globally.
Over the years, Mason has used his platform to raise over $100,000 for charities, including the Make-A-Wish Foundation and Sick Kids Hospital. He emphasizes that while traditional Santa makes toys, Fashion Santa brings awareness to important causes.
Through the holiday season, Houstonians will have several opportunities to meet Fashion Santa. He will headline the River Oaks District Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony on November 23, arriving in a mysterious, reimagined sleigh escorted by police. Then, you can find him at the Post Oak Hotel's Country Christmas Holiday Tea, where he will judge a costume contest and award prizes for best dressed. Houston Life co-host Derrick Shore joked with Mason suggesting he will win the contest! He will return to Houston on December 8 for a special event featuring photos with pets.
