Sean Rueter has been thinking too much about pro wrestling since at least WrestleMania I, and blogging about it for SBNation & Cageside Seats since around WrestleMania 28.
Before his match with QT Marshall on the pre-show of Saturday's Full Gear PPV, viral internet star and former independent wrestler "Big Boom" AJ Befumo and his 11-year-old son Eric (aka "Big Justice") appeared on the Nov. 20 AEW Dynamite to break some news.
That news? They're bringing Eric's friend and fellow social media sensation "The Rizzler" to ring the bell after Big Boom drops the BOOM on QT.
Who, or what, is The Rizzler? He's third grader Christian Joseph of New Jersey, who linked up with the Boca Raton, Florida-based Costco Guys after attaining his own online fame. The Rizzler moves his finger around his face, and I guess the ladies go wild?
The involvement of Big Boom, Big Justice, and now The Rizzler at Full Gear has been the subject of many jokes and even some scorn. But Befumo has more than two million followers on TikTok, and in addition to being on The Tonight Show has been parodied on Saturday Night Live. If anyone who's familiar with them -- for any reason -- buys the PPV this weekend, then the one-match contract Tony Khan gave AJ will have paid off.
Here's a reminder of the current card for Saturday's PPV in Newark, New Jersey, which will be available on Triller TV, other online outlets, and traditional PPV.
