Inter Milan midfielder Hakan Calhanoglu is only fit to start on the bench against Hellas Verona, and Kristjan Asllani will start.
This according to today's print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, via FCInterNews.
Inter breathed a big sigh of relief regarding the fitness of Calhanoglu yesterday.
There had been an injury scare for the former AC Milan and Bayer Leverkusen midfielder during the international break.
Calhanoglu, who is the captain of the Turkey international team, played in his national side's Nations League match against Wales last week.
However, some discomfort in his thigh forced Calhanoglu off during that match.
Considering the Inter midfielder had only just come back from a thigh injury, this was a major worry.
However, yesterday Calhanoglu underwent tests with Inter's medical staff. These showed that he has now sustained any serious injury.
According to the Gazzetta, Calhanoglu will not miss any matches for Inter. He will already be ready to be in the starting eleven in their first match back from the break.
Inter take on Hellas Verona in their return to Serie A action tomorrow afternoon.
However, that hardly means that Nerazzurri coach Simone Inzaghi is going to risk Calhanoglu in tomorrow's match.
There is still a big question around the Turk's sharpness considering that he's only just back in training.
Inzaghi is going to have to think about squad rotation. Inter are playing virtually twice a week for the foreseeable future.
Therefore, Calhanoglu is not going to make an immediate return to the starting eleven against Verona.
Rather, the Gazzetta report, it will be midfielder Kristjan Asllani who starts in Calhanoglu's place.
The Gazzetta's complete predicted Inter starting eleven for tomorrow's match is as follows:
Inter (3-5-2): Sommer; Bisseck, Acerbi, Bastoni; Darmian, Barella, Asllani, Mkhitaryan, Dimarco; Thuram, Lautaro.
