On November 19, the U.S. Navy posted a request for information (RFI) for Environmental Intelligence Preparation of the Battlespace (EIPB). Responses are due by 11:00 p.m. on December 2.
This is a RFI/SS notice issued by Naval Supply Systems Command (NAVSUP) Fleet Logistics Center (FLC) Norfolk Contracting Department, Fleet Directorate on behalf of the Naval Oceanographic Office (NAVOCEANO). NAVOCEANO is located at the John C. Stennis Space Center in southern Mississippi. It is a subordinate United States Naval Meteorology and Oceanography Command (NMOC) command. It plays a crucial role in providing the Department of Defense (DoD) with a comprehensive understanding of the environment by collecting data and offering specialized oceanographic, hydrographic, bathymetric, geophysical, and acoustic products and services. These aids are vital for safe navigation and effective mission planning.
One of NAVOCEANO's essential tools is the EIPB geospatial software application. This environmental decision aid software integrates high-quality meteorological and oceanographic (METOC) data with DoD information at the strategic, operational, and tactical levels.
The benefit of EIPB is that it enhances and develops new capabilities for NAVOCEANO and other DoD partners to meet the needs of global United States naval operations.
