Nov. 19 -- ATHENS -- The Concord University Athletic Department announced Monday that Concord head football coach Brian Ferguson has been relieved of his duties effective immediately.
Concord concluded a 1-10 season this past Saturday -- wrapping up Ferguson's second year as the head coach of the Mountain Lions football program.
"We would like to thank Brian for his time at Concord University, both as the offensive coordinator from 2020-2022, and most recently as the head coach," Concord Co-Athletic Directors Luke Duffy and Tesla Southcott said. "We wish Brian and his family the best in their future."
Concord will begin a national search for the next head coach of the football program immediately.
Defensive coordinator David Blake will oversee the program during the interim period while the university conducts the search for the next coach.
No further comment on the matter will be made by Concord University at this time.
