You are using an out of date browser. It may not display this or other websites correctly.
You should upgrade or use an alternative browser. I've just ordered the Mac mini with 24 GB RAM and 1 TB SSD. Have I been too stingy? Should I've paid 500€ more and gone for the Pro?
Here's what I'm going to do:
As a professional musician (composer & performer) and music teacher, I use mostly:
- Office (Numbers, Pages)
- Finale (going to switch to Dorico), also for creating large orchestral scores. I do use the playback function and plan to use bigger, more recent sound libraries in the future.
- Final Cut Pro and Logic Pro mainly for YT videos of my music and performances (this is not daily use, though, and the videos are not highly complex either).
- Photoshop & sometimes Illustrator mostly for publications (e. g. musical examples, illustrations).
Considering taxes (since I use the device professionally), I'd effectively pay 300-400€ more for the Pro in the end, probably. Furthermore, I'd get more money back when selling the Pro after a couple of years. On the other hand: Would the Pro really make a difference for me?
Up to now I'm using a 27" iMac 2015 with 8 GB RAM and 512 GB. It has become quite slow even when only working with notation software (Finale), Photoshop I almost can't use anymore.
Thank you for any advice!
