EASTLAND COUNTY, Texas (KTAB/KRBC) - A man from Abilene died in a motorcycle accident that occurred on Thursday afternoon in Eastland County.

The fatality was a single-vehicle accident that occurred at 4:19 p.m. on Thursday, November 21, on State Highway 6, four miles south of Eastland.

According to Texas DPS, the preliminary investigation indicates that the driver was heading north on the highway when they collided with a construction barrel on the side of the road.

The driver was pronounced dead at the scene and was identified as Jeffrey Wirt, a 72-year-old from Abilene, Texas. According to the DPS investigation, it states that the driver died as he was ejected from his motorcycle. The weather conditions were clear and dry.
