Do You Know The New York State Towns Called Out In This Popular Holiday Movie?

Tis the season to watch all of our favorite holiday movies on repeat. On Christmas Day, I enjoyed seeing A Christmas Story, National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation and one of my favorites, It's A Wonderful Life.

Fans of It's A Wonderful Life claim that there's an upstate New York town that was inspired the making of this film. I visited an iconic Christmas movie town in Seneca Falls, NY. This town is also referred to as the real Bedford Falls and has a relation to It's A Wonderful Life.

This movie was created in the 1940's starring James Stewart, Donna Reed, Henry Travers and more.

James Stewart played George Bailey who was experiencing difficulties in his life. After having thoughts of jumping off of a bridge, his guardian angel, Henry Travers who played Clarence rescued him. George's life is shown in a flashback and Clarence takes him through each stage in his life and how his presence played an important role in so many lives.

Clarence the angel, shows George what his family, town and family business would be like without him. At the end, George is able to reunite with all the people he loves and cherishes every single second of his life all thanks to his guardian angel, Clarence.

I highly recommend visiting Seneca Falls, NY. Every year, this town celebrates a holiday movie with a weekend full of fun and events. A Wonderful Life Festival takes place each December in Seneca Falls, NY.

Fans can explore a museum dedicated to the most popular Christmas movie, It's A Wonderful Life.

When I visited Seneca Falls, I saw a bridge that looked similar to one of It's A Wonderful Life. I realized that the story of this movie could have come from an event in the Seneca Falls, NY area. In the 1900's, a resident jumped into the water off of the bridge to save someone. However, there's a sign on this bridge as dedication to this hero.

Frank Capra created It's A Wonderful Life. Capra visited Seneca Falls, NY when he was working on the script for the movie. Although this movie was filmed in California, others claim that Seneca Falls, NY was the inspiration for it.

It's A Wonderful Life Museum has ornaments, puzzles and calendars but so much more. Guests can expect to also see luggage tags, key rings, bells, wine glasses, mugs and more.

This Christmas town also got recognition from the Reader's Digest. They shared that it's,

"The Best Christmas Towns in America You Should Visit at Least Once"

Fans have noticed upstate New York towns that were mentioned in this movie.

"I want to spend Christmas in Elmira with my family."

"Say hello to New York for me"

"Sam Wainwright promised to call you from New York tonight."

"Harry, how about your banquet in New York?"

"Rochester, well, why Rochester?

"Oh, well, my father owns a glass factory in Buffalo."

References made to New York City were included in It's A Wonderful Life. Upstate New York towns such as Buffalo, Elmira and Rochester were also mentioned in this popular holiday movie.

I was so excited everytime that I heard a New York state town mentioned in It's A Wonderful Life. Be sure to watch the entire movie next time to notice these New York towns.
