A new traffic signal will be installed in Hanover this week, according to PennDOT.
The new temporary signal will be at the intersection of Kingid Lane and High Street in the borough, the state Department of Transportation announced.
The new signal will be installed between 8 a.m. and 3 p.m. Tuesday, creating lane restrictions and delays. Drivers are encouraged to use alternate routes.
The new signals will be put on flash mode initially, and they will be fully activated Thursday morning, PennDOT said.
The intersection will also have new pavement marking and signs installed.
The intersection currently has a stop sign for Kindig Lane and no stop for High Street. The signal is being installed to improve safety and operations, PennDOT said.
PennDOT will receive bids on installing permanent signals next month, and that work is expected to be finished by late summer of 2025. The temporary signals will remain in place until then.
